Tunisia (French Protectorate)
Tunisia was a Protectorate of France from 1881 to 1956. Tunisian francs were the only LMU coins with the Islamic calendar and this dual-calendar coinage resulted in additional variations (e.g., 1321/1903 and 1321/1904).
Tunsian coinage after ~1905, under Muhammad V and Muhammad VI, had very limited mintage.

The 1890-1891 dual-denomination 25 piastre / 15 francs is an honorable mention as a transitional coin. This coin is 4.92 grams at 0.9 fine, heavier than the 4.84 grams it should be to match the French gold francs (that is, 6.45 grams 20 francs X 15/20). The higher weight matches the predecessor currency. The Tunisian 20 francs of 1891 (above) matches.
